Three campgrounds nestled on the shores of crystal clear lakes surrounded by old growth forests. In the 1970's the Ministry of Natural Resources established the McConnell Lake Campgrounds in order to centralize camping in the township of Wyse, McAuslan, La Salle and south half of Parkman. Under the authority of the Public Lands Act, people wishing to overnight camp in any of these townships, referred to as the McConnell Lakes Recreation Area, must camp at the designated areas. There are three campgrounds, one at Little McDougal Lake, one at Blue Lake and one at Boland Lake. They contain a total of 168 individual campsites to service outdoor enthusiasts. The campgrounds are managed by a partnership agreement between the Ministry of Natural Resources and a private operator/manager. The McConnell Lake campgrounds and the wilderness area it serves is a remarkably beautiful piece of Ontario's precious natural resource. Teeming with lakes and wildlife, the Ministry of Natural Resources has been successful in protecting this resource for all to enjoy. If you know the area, you love it. If you have never been out there, you are encouraged to go out and explore, see what you're missing and maybe, fall in love too. For a list of sites available to rent next season, Click Here. |
